Holafly vs Saily: two ways to sell "unlimited" travel data
Most people comparing Holafly and Saily want unlimited data and are trying to work out which offer is better value. Both sell unlimited eSIMs, but with different rules: Holafly sells unlimited data by the day and lets you pick the exact number of days, while Saily sells unlimited plans with a stated daily full-speed allowance, alongside gigabyte plans. This page compares the two on the unlimited offer first, using prices and terms read on both websites on October 3, 2026, then looks at when a gigabyte plan is the cheaper choice. Saily belongs to Nord Security (NordVPN), which also publishes comparisons of the two. We sell travel eSIMs as well (TravelNet), and keep our offer to a separate section at the end.

When you don't need unlimited
Saily also sells gigabyte plans; Holafly does not.
| 7–30 days, light to medium use | Holafly (unlimited) | Saily |
|---|---|---|
| Japan, 3 GB | $27.50 (7 days) / $73.90 (30 days) | $7.99 (30 days) |
| France, 5 GB | $27.50 (7 days) / $73.90 (30 days) | $10.99 (30 days) |
| USA, 10 GB | $27.50 (7 days) / $73.90 (30 days) | $22.99 (30 days) |
Criterion by criterion
Price of unlimited. On the three plans we could match, Saily was $1.51 to $13.91 cheaper. Holafly lets you buy exactly the number of days you need (for example 10 days at $36.50), which can close the gap when Saily's durations don't fit your trip.
What you get at full speed. Saily states its rule: 5 GB per day at full speed, then up to 1 Mbps. Holafly states no threshold and says operators may slow the connection for up to one day. If you plan heavy use, Saily's published allowance is easier to check against your needs; Holafly's depends on the operator.
Hotspot. The clearest difference. Holafly limits sharing to 1 GB a day. Saily's pages describe hotspot use without restrictions. For working on a laptop from mobile data, this matters more than the price.
Light users. If you only need maps and messaging, Saily's gigabyte plans cost a fraction of an unlimited plan from either brand.
Refunds. Holafly's window is longer (up to 6 months for specific cases). Saily's 30-day full refund on unused eSIMs is simpler if you cancel a trip.
Several countries. Saily lets you add destinations to one eSIM. With Holafly you install an eSIM per destination plan (or choose a regional plan).
Verdict by traveler
- Exact trip length that doesn't match standard durations: Holafly's day-by-day pricing.
- Lowest price for unlimited on Japan, France or the USA: Saily, on the plans we compared.
- Laptop or shared use: Saily's hotspot terms; Holafly's 1 GB/day is the main constraint.
- Heavy use with a known allowance: Saily publishes 5 GB/day at full speed; Holafly publishes no threshold.
- Light use: a Saily gigabyte plan, not unlimited.
- Longest refund window: Holafly.
An alternative: TravelNet
TravelNet (this site) also sells unlimited data, with lower prices and lower daily thresholds. On October 3, 2026:
| 15 days | Holafly | Saily | TravelNet Unlimited Standard | TravelNet Unlimited Plus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Japan | $50.50 | $48.99 | $9.49 | $16.99 |
| USA | $50.50 | $45.99 | $22.49 | $44.49 |
Unlimited Standard keeps full speed for 1 GB a day, then 512 kbps; Unlimited Plus for 2 GB a day, then 2 Mbps (in Japan, both slow to 256 kbps). That is less full-speed data per day than Saily's 5 GB. In Japan our plans are 4G only. Support is 7 days a week with replies within 12 hours on average, with a full refund if the eSIM is not activated and a replacement first if it is faulty. See TravelNet unlimited plans →
